About Framingham Jr. Flyers Basketball
Framingham Jr. Flyers Basketball is an independent non-profit organization that is hosted by the Metro West YMCA and consists of all volunteers. FJF has the responsibility to organize, fund, and operate the travel basketball programs for the Town of Framingham. The overall goal of FJF is to provide an opportunity for the youth of Framingham to learn and play the game of basketball at all levels. Sportsmanship, teamwork and respect are stressed in all programs as well as just having fun playing the game of basketball.
FJF travel program is an option for those seeking a higher level of basketball competition against teams from other towns. The travel basketball program requires a high level of commitment and players who make a travel team are expected to make basketball their primary sport. If a player is unable to make the required commitment, he/she should not participate in tryouts potentially depriving another player who is willing to make the commitment to the team.
Travel teams generally practice twice week and compete in the Metrowest Basketball League. Travel teams may also compete in additional leagues and tournaments as directed by assigned coaches.
